Las Vegas, Nev., Nov. 3, 2017 –SMT (SportsMEDIA Technology), the leading provider in on-site real-time scoring, results and statistics for live events and broadcasts, today announced its involvement with the inaugural Major Series of Putting (MSOP) Championship, providing real-time scoring, content production and IPTV services. MSOP tests golfers of all stripes, from PGA Tour winners and pro mini-golfers to hopeful vacationers, all of whom aim to win one of eight cash tournaments over 10 days during Las Vegas’ newest high-stakes golf event, now underway through Nov. 5 just off the strip near Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino.
SMT is providing content production technologies used at PGA Tour events to provide MSOP participants with a true professional player experience. SMT will be driving content on the stadium’s 15-by-37-foot LED scoreboard, displaying live scoring, statistics, player head shots and bio information. MSOP’s eight events feature three different scoring formats, including match play, team play and stroke play, all of which are displayed on the LED board and scored in real-time by SMT staff.
With SMT’s customized Tournament IPTV Platform and Service (TIPS) production, spectators across the $2.2 million stadium gain an experience similar to a sports bar with indoor and outdoor bars, a two-story glass-walled clubhouse, practice area and skills game area with almost 30 TVs displaying the action on course as well as other live sports feeds. SMT is providing a customized Tournament Information Channel featuring live leaderboard, course records, daily schedules, event descriptions and much more.
The MSOP launched last summer with a series of regional qualifying tournaments during which players earned a spot in Las Vegas. Now, the best putters in the world are competing on an 18-hole track crafted by Nicklaus Design.
