SMT’s Talent Touch Screen is a multi-purpose off-screen tool utilized by studio talent to deliver expert analysis when describing any team, athlete, or event. SMT creates custom graphical user interfaces (GUI) that provide an array of touch selections, statistical and real-time information according to specific events – everything an announcer needs at his/her fingertips for the most complete analysis.
The touch screen doubles as a prompter, displaying information such as statistics, injury or strategy reports and any other pertinent information that is provided by selected data feeds through SMT’s DMX Switchboard.
SMT can also configure the system to perform telestration functions that allow drawing over moving or still video images, enhancing the broadcast.
- SMT customizes the information rich touch screen according to clients’ needs. The system contains and performs a number of analytical functions through one GUI.
- The touch screen is powered by SMT’s signature Data Matrix Switchboard system, where statistical data is directly collected prior to or during the event and instantly populated into the talent touch screen. For example, the system may be called upon to process telemetry, race position, pit stop timelines, driver statistics, point tracking and production notes. This information is visually presented and organized for swift browsing and access with the touch of a finger tap or two.
- SMT’s internal website allows studio talent to enter notes directly into the touch screen. In this way, the talent can create specific statistical or personal notes about each athlete and refer back to it during the event.
- The Talent Touch Screen can also link to the AD Station (Associate Director) with full access to all production management functions.
