SMT has provided since 2009 the social media integration for the BET network’s top-rated show, 106 & Park, and the BET Awards, the network’s live annual awards show that celebrates African-Americans and other minorities in the fields of music, acting, sports and entertainment.

BET uses SMT’s large interactive touch screen, called the GOTO Board, and SMT’s Drag’N View technology to enable fans to post messages via Twitter and Facebook during 106 & Park, the number one video countdown show on TV and BET’s highest rated show.

The show’s VJs, Terrence and Rocsi, interview hip-hop and R&B personalities in front of a live audience and invite fans watching from home to join the conversation by posting messages. The hosts respond to a variety of posts, displayed on the GOTO Board, providing an interactive experience for at-home fans.

The BET Awards ’11 also utilized the GOTO Board in its Social Media Lounge, allowing celebrities to instantly interact with fans. For the 2011 show, fans who posted messages were rewarded with the chance to win a 2012 Ford Focus, which was given away during the live show to a fan randomly selected by host La La from the 103-inch GOTO Board.

The GOTO Board is powered by SMT’s signature Data Matrix Switchboard (DMX), which absorbs, collates, organizes and distributes social media posts, then displays them on the GOTO Board.
