Shawn Sprung brings to SMT a diverse expertise in sales revenue growth, marketing strategy development and execution, sales organization design and implementation as well as leadership development and Sales Force effectiveness training. A commercial sales executive with more than 20 years’ experience with Fortune 500 and entrepreneurial businesses, he has a proven track record of leading organizations that consistently deliver strong sales growth.
As Vice President, Business Development for SMT’s Durham operations, Shawn champions all aspects of the generation of revenue, including the packaging of all SMT products and services. He oversees all Business Development Managers in the Durham division and coordinates with BDMs in SMT’s Jacksonville, Fla., and Fremont, Calif., divisions.
Shawn’s entire professional career has been rooted in sales leadership, with more than 15 years’ experience most recently with Glaxo Smith Kline, where he built, led and developed highly effective sales teams.
Utilizing his education in advertising and professional communication from the University of Central Florida, where attended on a full athletic scholarship as a Division I soccer player, Shawn is tasked with leading SMT’s business development staff in all aspects of sales and career development with a focus on accelerating sales growth.
Shawn resides in Cary, N.C., with his wife, Karen, a speech pathologist, and Labrador retriever, Cyrus. He and his wife have two college-age children: a son, Logan, who attends IUPUI, and a daughter, Amber, who attends Purdue University.
