Ron Harnek serves as president of SMT’s Jacksonville division, responsible for the division’s international strategy, profitability, and corporate operations. He works closely with the CEO, board members, and the executive management team with growth initiatives, strategic product development, financial planning and analysis, and ensuring that the company’s goals are met. Ron reports to SMT founder and Chief Executive Officer, Gerard J. Hall.
Ron draws on his 10-year experience as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of SMT Jacksonville’s division, where he was a key member of the senior management team that successfully completed the acquisition of IDS to SMT in 2012.
Ron is a past recipient of the Jacksonville Business Journal’s Ultimate CFO of the Year award. He serves on the Dean’s Educational Advisory Council, College of Education and Human Services, University of North Florida, and is also Chairman of the Board and President of Seaside Schools Consortium Inc., which operates non-profit Waldorf-inspired charter schools in Jacksonville.
Ron earned an MBA from Nova Southeastern University, and a B.S. in economics and finance from the University of Scranton, where he was on the university’s swim team.
Ron is a native of Oradell, New Jersey, and lives in Jacksonville, Fla., with his wife, Erika, and son, Lucas.
