Jim Arleth joined SMT in 2013 bringing 25+ years of experience developing technical solutions in both the telecommunications and sports statistics industries.
Jim comes to SMT from Avaya, where he ran Avaya’s third party developer program’s web portal as well as managed the development of the business process and operations tools used to run the program. As the architect and developer of the portal, he was awarded the Avaya Cup in 2008, given only to the top few contributors in the entire Avaya R&D community each year.
Previous to Avaya, he was the co-founder, and president of Precision Sports Statistics Inc. Under his leadership, Precision Sports grew to become one of the largest rotisserie and fantasy stats services for baseball, basketball, football and hockey fans before being acquired by a major television network. Before that, Jim designed communications software for AT&T Bell Laboratories.
Jim has B.S. and M.S. degrees in electrical engineering from the Cooper Union School of Engineering in New York City, and an MBA (Beta Gamma Sigma honors) from Purdue University’s Krannert School of Management.
Originally from the New York/New Jersey area, Jim now resides in Chapel Hill with his wife, Jennifer Aspell, and their four children.
